TIMEUP, Lda., a spin-off of the University of Coimbra (UC) and the Polytechnic of Coimbra (IPC), has obtained approval for the DiUp Project under the SIID Programme 2025 – “Projetos Demonstradores em Copromoção”, with a total funding of 1 million euros.
TIMEUP, Lda., as the project Promoter, is joined by the University of Coimbra, the Polytechnic of Coimbra, and the Local Health Unit (ULS) of Coimbra as Co-Promoters, with the latter being responsible for coordinating the clinical trials.
The DiUp Project aims to develop an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) of an innovative diagnostic medical device, named TimeUp, designed for the prevention and monitoring of catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CA-UTI).
This device seeks to contribute to a reduction in the incidence of CA-UTIs, improving patients’ quality of life, and optimizing hospital resource management, addressing a clinically relevant problem with significant impact on healthcare systems.
Clinical trials will be conducted in collaboration with the ULS of Coimbra team, ensuring the clinical validation of the device in a real-world healthcare setting.
